Jana Webb

Jana’s introduction to yoga was primarily for rehab to an injured shoulder that was affecting all areas of her life. At first, she was only aware of the physical benefits of the practice, but 8 years later she has come to realize that yoga keeps her family, her relationships, and her attitude balanced.

Her past is from an athletic background in which she played competitive basketball, volleyball and ringette. She is also an avid water skier, downhill skier and skater. Because of her athletic past, she brings more of an endurance and strength training element to her yoga sessions. She also studied musical theatre in college (singing, dancing, acting) which were all improved because of yoga. Her past endeavours definitely influences how she teaches her classes.

She studied and completed ISHTA training in Tokyo, Japan. ISHTA yoga has a two-fold meaning: an acronym for the Integrated Science of Hatha, Tantra and Ayruveda and a sanskrit word meaning individualized or personalized. Recognizing the uniqueness of the individual soul, Ishta yoga recognizes that every individual needs their own unique practice that will best address their own needs, development and self-awareness. ISHTA Yoga embraces elements from a variety of styles and seeks to help its students discover the exact blend of postures, breathing and meditation techniques necessary to bring out their full potential.

This past year she was invited to be a yoga instructor as a part of an on-line global fitness community. You can take your practice with you on the road or at home by visiting www.mypypeline.com/yoga . You can keep up with Jana and all of her adventures at http://mypypeline-yoga.blogspot.com
